Con "You and Myself" Andrea Bianconi (Vicenza, 1974) torna a Casa Testori, occupando gran parte delle stanze, con il suo bagaglio di performance lungo dieci anni in cui l'artista impiega il corpo come linguaggio espressivo e matrice di segno. Un segno che non cerca l'esibizione spettacolare, la rivelazione provocatoria, ma che acquisisce il proprio essere (la propria identità), cessando di essere segno di qualche cosa. È come se non avesse niente da dire, ma solo una serie di eventi da suggerire, da far intuire. Nelle sue performance siamo invitati a cercare anche ciò che non c'è (che non si vede, che non si sente), a intuire l'alternativa possibile, l'altra faccia del mondo. A stanare il soggetto che si nasconde nell'altro (o nell'altrove). Il myself che si con-fonde con you. La sua è la poetica dello spostamento e della transizione continua. La mostra ripercorre l'intero iter performativo di Bianconi: accanto ad azioni poste sotto il segno del ludico (della sorpresa, dello stupore), ad azioni minimali, sommesse, incantatorie, Bianconi sviluppa altre performance che implicano autentiche "recite collettive". L'artista non si pone stretti limiti disciplinari, regole, gerarchie, se non quelli di aprirsi all'altro, al pubblico, per destare stupore, incredulità, interrogativi. Spesso, la performance di Bianconi ha a che fare con una sorta di "divertimento artistico": è una gag, una serie di gesti apparentemente gratuiti, di risibili azioni ludiche. Alla pari degli attori dei film muti (o dei bambini) a lui piace nascondersi e apparire in scena all'improvviso. Soprattutto le maschere fanno la loro apparizione come strumenti di difesa, di fuga, di falsità. In Trap for the Minds (del 2012), l'artista se le mette e se le toglie ossessivamente, fino ad arrivare all'ultima che non è altro che la riproduzione della sua stessa faccia. E molte sono le immagini delle "trappole" di cui Bianconi dissemina i luoghi delle sue performance: scatole, specchi, gabbie, maschere che spesso vengono indossate dai protagonisti, senza che si capisca mai fino in fondo se, questo, avvenga per rinchiudersi, isolarsi o per vivere l'esperienza della dispersione, dello sconfinamento, delle associazioni imprevedibili.
Andrea Bianconi vive e lavora tra Vicenza e Brooklyn. Alla 5 Biennale di Mosca ha realizzato una public performance tra la Piazza Rossa, il Cremlino e il Manege. Tra le sue recenti esposizioni MSK Ghent, Houston, Valencia, Madrid, New York, United Arab Emirates, Basilea, Palazzo Reale, Milano, Shanghai. Nel 2011 Charta ha pubblicato la sua prima monografia, nel 2012 Cura.Books il suo primo libro d'artista "ROMANCE" e nel 2013 il secondo dal titolo "FABLE". Entrambi fanno parte della collezione del MoMA New York.

With "You and Myself", Andrea Bianconi (Vicenza, 1974) returns to Casa Testori, filling most of the rooms with his repertoire of performances, built up over ten years, in which the artist uses the body as an expressive language and a symbolic matrix. A symbol that does not seek spectacular exhibition or provocative revelation. A symbol that acquires its own being (its own identity) by ceasing to stand as a symbol for something. It is as if it had nothing to say, as if it had only a series of events to suggest. Events left to the observer's intuition. Bianconi's performances also invite us to seek what is not there (which we do not see, which we do not feel). They invite our intuition to seek the possible alternative, the other side of the world. To bring into the open the entity hidden in the other (or elsewhere). The myself that con-fuses with the you. His poetic vision is one of movement and continual transition. The exhibition covers Bianconi's entire itinerary of performances. Together with actions governed by playfulness (and surprise, or amazement), and minimal, restrained, incantatory actions, Bianconi develops other performances that imply genuine "collective performances". The artist does not pose himself strict disciplinary limits, rules or hierarchies, if not those of opening himself towards others, towards the public, to arouse amazement, incredulity and interrogatives. Bianconi's performances often approach a form of "artistic entertainment". They may be gags, a series of apparently pointless gestures, of ridiculous playful acts. Like actors in silent films (or like children), he likes to hide himself and then burst suddenly on the scene. Masks often appear as instruments of defence, of flight, of falsity. In Trap for the Minds (2012), the artist obsessively dons and removes his mask, until we reach the final mask, which is none other than a reproduction of his own face. Numerous, too, are the images of the "traps" that Bianconi strews along the paths of his performances: boxes, mirrors, cages and masks that are often worn by his characters, without it ever becoming entirely clear whether they do this to hide themselves, isolate themselves, or to experience the dispersion, the broken boundaries of unforeseeable associations.
Andrea Bianconi lives and works in Vicenza and Brooklyn. He was selected to partecipate in the 5th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art with a public performance presented at the Red Square, the Kremlin, Manege. His recent exhibitions include MSK Ghent, Houston, Valencia, Madrid, New York, the United Arab Emirates, Basle, Palazzo Reale, Milan and Shanghai. In 2011, Charta published his first monograph. In 2012 Cura.Books issued his first artist's book, "ROMANCE". His second, "FABLE", followed in 2013. Both are part of the MoMA, New York collection.

With the exhibition "he is back but far away" by Berlin-based Czech artist Robert Barta, the temporary project TACHO opens on a traffic education park in Kreuzberg.
TACHO presents installations, interventions and performances for six months at this location and examines the site-specific characteristics of this area.
The traffic education park on Wassertorplatz is tucked away and seems to be fallen out of sight, but this scaled-down and staged street parkour is an ideal place for new ways and forms of art and sculpture. Just by the absence of conventional signs of public space, this place almost becomes an "outdoor´s white cube".
